MTV is unveiling a logo refresh today. I came in this morning to the photo of Warren the Ape on my door and wondered if someone was trying to tell me something.  (message unclear…I am a puppet?)

Night Lights”, made by YesYesNo Interactive Projects.

How cool are these guys? Hoping we have reason to work together before too long…

Their description of the project:

In this installation YesYesNo teamed up with The Church, Inside Out Productions and Electric Canvas to turn the Auckland Ferry Building into an interactive playground. Our job was to create an installation that would go beyond merely projection on buildings and allow viewers to become performers, by taking their body movements and amplifying them 5 stories tall.

We used 3 different types of interaction - body interaction on the two stages, hand interaction above a light table, and phone interaction with the tracking of waving phones. There were 6 scenes, cycled every hour for the public.

We had a great deal of fun making this, hope you enjoy it too.

On Friday, President Obama appeared before House Republicans in a historic televised Q&A and performed so well that, afterwards, GOP aides said that allowing the cameras to roll like that was a mistake. C’mon Republicans, are you on such a Scott Brown high that you thought you could take down Barack Obama down by debating him? You realize that debates are why he’s President, right? Seriously, all you guys do is complain about how Obama is all talk and then you invite him to a forum that’s literally all talk. That’s like saying ‘let’s see how tough Aquaman is when we get him in the water.’ I’m not saying you were outclassed, but the whole thing was like the scene in Raiders of the Lost Ark when the guy charged Indy with a sword and he just shot him.

Err…shouldn’t this be in OUR office?

The original MTV fish tank in the betaworks offices. Those appear to be Neon Tetras if my tropical fish knowledge serves me correctly.

World's Best Bookstores

cool eh?  thanks bbook

No matter where you are in the world, here are the coolest places to bathe in great architecture and buy some books while you’re at it.

An interesting observation itself…but even more interesting is the prospect of all the other data we, in the aggregate and as individuals, are pumping out there. Mindboggling.

“Make Her Say”, Kid Cudi.

This song was rattling in my head, and so playing on my iPod, all week. Strange soundtrack for a beachy yoga retreat, yes. Sue me.

My first yoga retreat

I hope to do that again, and if the opportunity presents itself to you, I hope you will jump in wholeheartedly…I didn’t realize how run down I was until I came back feeling how I do now and thought, well this is different…

I’m not going to sum it up — I can’t — but I can say I feel cleaner from the inside out. Rested, more deeply than just a good night’s sleep. More grounded and yet also more open. Sunned. Quieter inside. Something toward still.

Now how long can I keep this going in NYC…
