EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT FOR SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, SCRATCH
Scratch (www.mtvscratch.com) is a collaborative, diverse, cross-functional team that channels the reach, connection and creative force of Viacom and its brands in new ways to drive revenue and culture.
Scratch is seeking an Executive Assistant to support the SVP and head of its consulting practice. This position is based in New York, NY and is on a full-time, freelance basis.
Job responsibilities include the following but are not limited to:
OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide administrative support for SVP ranging from heavy travel and scheduling, daily departmental operations, events and research projects.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
- Provide general administrative support for SVP – managing calendars, handling extensive travel arrangements, scheduling meetings/conference calls, answering phones, making copies, faxing, filing, data-entry, organizing contacts, sending packages, settling expense reports and ordering premiums.
- Utilize office applications such as PC, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Assist and work with others within the department/company on various projects, distributions and preparations for events or meetings, both internal and external.
- Aid in category research as well as general industry and competitive research (e.g., surf web for company background/ product information, search trade magazines/ newspapers for appropriate articles/ mining the competitive landscape).
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 1 year experience, preferably in Entertainment and/or Executive Assistant
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications, especially PowerPoint
- Well-organized, detail-oriented, ability to prioritize and multi-task with great follow up skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-moving environment; flexible and adaptable to change
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive issues or information
- Ability to interact with individuals at all levels of an organization, particularly senior levels
- College degree is preferred and equivalent work experience is required

DIRECTOR, SCRATCH
Scratch (www.mtvscratch.com) is a collaborative, diverse, cross-functional team that channels the reach, connection and creative force of Viacom and its brands in new ways to drive revenue and culture.
Scratch is looking for an entrepreneurial, experienced Director to join its consulting practice. Candidates should be passionate about youth culture, with strong client-service skills, and able to manage and drive a wide variety of projects. The Director will lead and support various projects for Scratch’s consulting partners, including business strategies, insights and trends reports, brand strategies, retail and product launch plans, and creative concepts for activation.
DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead working team(s) dedicated to researching, writing, and developing specific project deliverables (e.g. assessments, strategies, research studies, videos, presentations & events, creative concepts)

Manage client relationships through development and execution of projects, including presentation of interim and final deliverables

Drive thought-leadership, including original IP, synthesis of research, audits of industry and business thinking, and cultural news to formulate new products for Scratch and its partners

Scratch is looking for a motivated, capable Coordinator to join its consulting practice. Candidates should have a strong interest in consumer brands, media, business, and culture, and possess the ability to think critically about how these elements interact. The Coordinator will provide operational, administrative, and executional support across a variety of different assignments for Scratch’s consulting business, including research, analysis, and project management.
DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support cross-functional working team(s) dedicated to executing projects (e.g. assessments, strategies, research studies, videos, creative concepts, industry analyses, presentations & events)
- Draft project assignments and manage timelines
- Research and analyze relevant industry and cultural trends, evaluate business problems
- Prepare and present briefing materials based on this research
